Paramoun Rite

Paramoun: The word Paramoun means preparation, and it is specific to the Feasts of the Nativity and Theophany (Epiphany) only. It is observed as a strict fast (until evening) and fish is not permitted.

Days of the Paramoun

• If the feast falls on a Sunday, the Paramoun is observed on Friday and Saturday.

• If the feast falls on a Monday, the Paramoun is observed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

• If Saturday or Sunday fall within the Paramoun, they are fasted without abstinence, but no fish is eaten. Otherwise, the Paramoun is one day only.

• If the Paramoun of the Nativity falls on 27 Kiahk, the readings of 28 Kiahk are read.

• If the Paramoun lasts more than one day, the same readings are repeated (even on Sundays) to prepare the mind and spirit for receiving the feast.

Paramoun Rite

The prayers follow the annual (ordinary) rite, with the addition of

The Paramoun-specific Psali (hymn) and The Paramoun Vespers exposition (Tarh) from the book of Psalis for the Nativity and Theophany

Vespers and Matins Incense Raising

Incense is offered as usual in the annual rite. The Verses of the Cymbals (Arba‘ al-Naqous) are said. The Paramoun doxologies are chanted before the doxology of the Virgin Mary and The Paramoun Gospel response and the conclusion are said

Midnight Praise (Tasbeha)

• Midnight praise is prayed as in the annual rite, with A Psali for each Hoos. The exposition (Tarh) read after each Hoos in this order:
  (Psali – Hoos – Tarh) according to the day of the Paramoun

• This full rite applies when the Paramoun is one day only. If it is multiple days, this full order is done only on the day immediately before the feast; earlier days use only the daily Paramoun Psali

• The Difnar is read daily as usual

Liturgy (Mass)

• The Psalms of the Third, Sixth, Ninth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Hours are prayed (and the Veil in monasteries)

• The Liturgy is prayed according to the annual rite, with The Paramoun Praxis response, The Paramoun Gospel response, The Nativity Fraction for the Nativity Paramoun and  The Theophany Fraction for the Theophany Paramoun.

• The Paramoun Liturgy should be late in the day, since it is a strict fast, except if it falls on Saturday or Sunday

• Feasts of the Virgin Mary, angels, apostles, martyrs, and saints do not alter the Paramoun readings

طقس البرامون
البرامون :  كلمة برامون تعني إستعداد وهو خاص بعيدي الميلاد والغطاس فقط. ويصام للمساء ولا يؤكل فيه سمك.
أيام البرامون:

· إذا جاء العيد يوم الأحد يكون البرامون يومي السبت والجمعة .

· إذا جاء العيد يوم الإثنين يكون البرامون أيام الأحد والسبت والجمعة.

· إذا كان السبت أو الأحد ضمن البرامون يصامان بدون إنقطاع، لكن لا يؤكل فيهما السمك .خلاف ذلك يكون البرامون يوماً واحداً.

· إذا جاء برامون عيد الميلاد يوم 27 كيهك تقرأ فية فصول 28 كيهك.

إذا جاء البرامون أكثر من يوم تكرر نفس قراءات البرامون "حتى فى الآحاد" لتمهيد الذهن والروح لإستقبال العيد.

طقس البرامون:

 يصلى بالطقس السنوى المعتاد على أن تقال الأبصالية الخاصة بالبرامون والطرح الخاص بعشية البرامون من كتاب أبصاليات عيدي الميلاد والغطاس.

 طقس رفع بخور باكر وعشية:

 يرفع البخور كالمعتاد في الأيام السنوية مع ملاحظة أن تقال أرباع الناقوس، كما تقال الذكصولوجيات الخاصة بالبرامون قبل ذكصولوجية العذراء مريم ويقال مرد إنجيل البرامون والختام.
 

 طقس تسبحة نصف الليل:

· تصلى تسبحة نصف الليل كالمعتاد فى الأيام السنوية مع ملاحظة أن تقال إبصالية على كل هوس، ويقرأ الطرح بعد كل هوس بالترتيب الآتى (إبصالية ـ هوس ـ طرح) وفقاً لليوم الذى يقع فيه البرامون.

· يعمل بهذا الطقس إذا كان البرامون يوماً واحداً، أما إذا كان أكثر من يوم فينطبق هذا الطقس على اليوم السابق للعيد فقط، أما اليوم أو اليومين السابقين ليوم البرامون الأصلي فيكتفى بقراءة إبصالية اليوم الخاصة ببرامون العيد.

· يقرأ الدفنار كل يوم على حده في أيام البرامون كما هو متبع.

طقس القداس:

· تصلي مزاميرالساعة الثالثة والسادسة والتاسعة والغروب والنوم (والستار في الأديرة).

· يصلى القداس كما هو معتاد في الأيام السنوية مع ملاحظة أن يقال مرد الإبركسيس ومرد الإنجيل الخاص بالبرامون وتصلى قسمة الميلاد في برمون الميلاد، وقسمة الغطاس في برمون الغطاس.

· يجب أن يكون قداس البرامون متأخراً لأنه صوم إنقطاعى، ما عدا إذا وقع في يومي السبت أو الأحد.

· أعياد العذراء مريم والدة الإله والملائكة والرسل والشهداء والقديسين لا تغير فصول قراءات البرامون.
